  • – PG Dip Physiotherapy
  • – MSc Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Mike Broadbent qualified as a Sports Therapist from Teesside University in 2005. Afterward, he travelled for a year, exploring South America, Southeast Asia, Australia, and living in New Zealand before returning to Yorkshire.

He gained experience working with several football clubs and completed his Physiotherapy training at the University of Huddersfield, earning his PG Dip and becoming a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2009.

Mike began his Physiotherapy career at the NHS Trust in Huddersfield & Calderdale, specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. It was during this time that he met Kristian while working in the outpatient department at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

He further specialised in Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, balancing his time between orthopaedic rehabilitation and outpatient care. He also worked at the Huddersfield Town Academy.

In 2017, Mike completed his Master’s in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Practice. After the birth of his first child, Oscar, he transitioned to the private sector, taking on the role of Senior Triage Physiotherapist at Nuffield Health while continuing part-time work with Huddersfield Town Academy. He also established the Physiotherapy Room in Holmfirth, which grew increasingly busy.

By 2019, Mike became full-time in private practice at the Physiotherapy Room Holmfirth, later welcoming his second child, Lilly. To meet rising demand, he expanded his team, adding specialists like Kate Southall (Senior Specialist MSK & Rheumatology Physiotherapist), Gareth Heathcote (massage therapist), Simone Amps-Cymbal (Pilates instructor), and Amy Silver (Clinic Manager), as well as increasing Kristian Thackray’s hours (Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner) and recently adding Richard Walker (Senior MSK Specialist & Football Physiotherapist)

Outside of work and family, Mike enjoys cycling, motorbiking tours with his brother and father, and traveling with his children. He loves staying busy and often engages in DIY projects.

Mike has a special interest in lower limb issues, particularly foot-related problems, gait analysis, and cycling injuries. He has pursued further education in specialised gait analysis for runners and bike fitting for physiotherapists, offering these services at his clinic.
